Think back to the previous post, remember how nervous I mentioned we were, on the edge of our seats wondering if we’ve done enough. Well it looks like we had, Dynamic came first place, receiving 860/900!

Not only that but Dynamic also received an important award that we believed we had no chance in getting…that’s right FASTEST CAR at 0.99seconds! I understand that the track was a bit shorter but still! We never imagined that Dynamic and fastest car would ever be in the same sentence. It proves that with determination and good old-fashioned elbow grease anything’s possible. It also helps if you have the best Manufacturing Engineer and Design Engineer known to F1’s industry. Micheal and Ed have been working none stop, staying up late and reaching dead ends but tirelessly they have ploughed on. They have produced a car which not only look-wise is brilliant but performance-wise is outstanding! This award rewards them for their hard work, reiterates that they are doing us proud!

Succeeding onto the National’s on the 11th of March with this award pushes us to work harder, thinking outside of the box with not only our car design but in everything else we do. National’s better be ready.

22 hours, 5 minutes by the time I post this. The day that decides the path Dynamic are going to take is looming. Right now Dynamic are busily tweaking and checking, last-minute in true Dynamic style. However, shockingly, we are more prepared than we ever have been. This time we have had time to actually breath for a minute rather than a couple of seconds!
The 5 of us have been hastily scribbling down lists and reminders to ensure we do not forget anything. But I  can safely safe that we are on track to successfuly entering the Regionals at a competitive level. Wish us good luck!

I know you all may be wondering why Dynamic has suddenly popped up out of the blue after four silent months.
Well the reason for this sudden emerging is because yet again Dynamic are on the go! From the web side of view, Dynamic have been dead to the world however Dynamic have been secretly working throughout the cold winter months to yet again be the great F1 team that we are.

We have been busily preparing for the Regional Finals on 8th February, back to our normal routine of hard work. Looking back on the preparation time it has become apparent that we actually haven’t had any time to rest.

Switching from completing A Levels to finishing F1, it truly has been a manic few months. But yet again, resorting to the good old cliché, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Anyways, time flies and this time next Dynamic will know if we are to sail through to the Nationals or not. But before I disappear, just a quick note to say how grateful we are to the sponsors that have stuck by us and are continuing their fantastic support for this stage.

The day finally arrived, what twenty five teams have been working months, even years for. Dynamic arrived in the humid beautiful country of Singapore late on Saturday and has been working constantly for three days straight. Nearly no sleep, running on tanks filled with red bull. Yesterday we had all the judging and today in under two hours we have our nerve raking verbal presentation. Then dynamic are the last peopl to have the engineering presentation. We are seeing this as a good thing, get to leave a lasting impression. We do not know what the day holds for us, but that’s the beauty of this competition, never know what the day brings. The only sad thing is one more days has passed for the competition. Dynamic are closer to leaving Singapore. But it us certain dynamic we leave with experience, valuable advice and contacts but most importantly amazing and unique memories.
Thankyou again to our sponsors and supporters for getting us here.

Friday has finally come, in six hours Dynamic shall be stepping onto a plane to travel 13 hours to arrive at Singapore at 5pm. Trailing in our suitcases this morning to school we felt a mixture of anticipation, eagerness but also a tiny bit of sadness. yesterday it dawned on us that although we have the best ten days planned for us this will be an ending for the long road we have had to take. therefore we are going to make it the finest ten days we have ever had.

Today will entail of saying good-byes, offering our thanks to everyone who has helped and tieing up all the loose ends. however today also entails of a mock a level geography exam for Dynamic.. joy.

Nevertheless Dynamic cannot push the thought away from their mind, not that they would want to, that in 24 hours we shall be sitting in our 5 Star hotel finally being able to say ‘We are here’.

To be perfectly honest Singapore doesn’t know whats about to hit her, Dynamic are on their way!

Oh and did I mention Ed who moved to New Forest is BACKKKKKKKK!!

It’s a total of 67 hours until we drive through our school gates and part with reality. At 2pm on Friday 17th September five 16 year olds will be leaving their safe realms of year 12 to go to travel approximately 6740 miles South East of London to the humid city of Singapore. There, that group will be holding the title of UK National Champions and be competing against 25 other countries to gain the prestigious title of F1 in Schools World Champions… That team is Dynamic.

A bit dramatic but it was needed. We can now positively say we are ready to go and represent the UK, the car is done, the folder is done, the stand is done, the speech.. well its done!
We had a bit of a teary moment today, realising this was it, this was our chance to do ourselves proud, our Sponsors proud, our school proud but also the UK proud. We have had an unbelievable amount of support over the last year but it is near to impossible to thank every single person who has contributed towards our team. That is why winning the World Championships means so much to Dynamic.

Three more days until we say goodbye to Britain and hello Singapore. Waiting all year to say that

September the Second, the sun is shinning, birds are singing and the leaves are slowly falling. But another regular Autumn event has occured today Dynamic are back at school.
Michael, Emily, Tim and I have now had our first day back at school, but now with the added scary thought of Alevels. Ed, our design engineer, has now left our school and starts next week at a school over 2 hours away. But whilst we have been in our lessons Ed has been working hard rendering and writing amongst other things.

This morning the common rooms were filled with questions on everyones summer; how it was, what people did, are they relaxed. But I can safely say on behalf on Dynamic that those questions would be replied with; it was different, full of endless days at F1 and relaxed…don’t know the meaning of relaxed. However I can also safely say it will be a summer none of us will forget. From tantrums about hte stand to dancing on tables to ordering in sushi for lunch. Whilst we have been in all day every day working we have had the best summer so far. Call me a nerd but I personally loved having the school all to ourselves and most mornings I actually woke up feeling happy to come to school.

After that ’emotional’ tribute it is now time to have school take over our lives again but for different reasons and not for a good reason. We’ve been told school is now our main focus with F1 littered in between. But a little part of me is saying somehow I do not think that is reality.

In the past week, Dynamic have been in our workshop constantly every day. We’ve had a birthday, meetings, absences due to holidays and music festivals to recover from, yet we are still working hard. We have finalised our stand and tested our cars to the ‘max’ and are now onto tying everything together. But still it’s getting harder and harder to think about the finals due to the work we still have to do.
But do not fear UK, even with everything happening this summer Dynamic will make you proud.

On friday we were fortunate to be allowed access to the City University London to test our cars in their aerodynamic department. This has really sped things up for us as we now know to what extent our cars could really succeed therefore which one we should employ for the race. Adding to that we also were able to practice our speaking in front of several important people in all different aspects of the uni. We were able to showcase what we are offering and what we could offer.
It was an important and special day for us all, especially for our Manufacturing Engineer Michael who finally turned the big 16. We are now more than happy with our progress and what is left to come…. bring on Singapore !!
Just like to also add a big thank-you to the City University London who helped us  and let us use their facilities.

Looking at our calender this morning I realised that we are now out of the time period where we can dawdle along, saying a lot of  “if’s” and “maybe’s”. Now we have reached the pinnacle point where we can soon count  the weeks left on one hand.
But still the list for the competition doesn’t seem to stop, I’m sure every day when we can breathe a sigh of relief because something can be crossed off, at least two more things are added to the list.
This ‘experince of a life time’ is sure taking a lot of my life time. But hey… it sure is worth it. We get endless fun out of this competition and a whole lot of valuable experiences. Knowledge that gives us a big boost on the career ladder ,putting us a step ahead of many other people, as well as providing skills and experinces that money can’t buy. For instance just the other week we were invited to go to a concert at the o2 arena in aid of the Transformation Trust. We were able to watch performances from the likes of The Wanted to The Saturdays.

We are in the process now of thinking of new and innovative ways of presenting ourselves to the judges and our stand at the competition.  Whilst trying to remember we do have a 14 hour flight which restricts many of our ideas due to weight and space. However there is no need (room) for panic as we have 6 weeks and counting and are well on our way of doing Britain proud.

That is a grand total of 46 days….. oh dear.
